Flatbed Trucking From Calgary
When your cargo is too big, too heavy, or too awkward for a standard trailer — our flatbed fleet and experienced operators get it there safely.
What We Haul on Flatbeds
Flatbed trucks are the workhorses of specialized freight. Unlike enclosed trailers with fixed walls and doors, flatbeds have an open deck that can be loaded from the top, sides, or rear — making them essential for cargo that doesn't fit conventional dimensions.
In Alberta, flatbed freight is everywhere. The energy sector needs pipe, valves, and equipment moved to job sites. Construction companies need steel, lumber, and precast concrete delivered to builds. Manufacturers need machinery relocated. Agriculture needs implements and grain bins transported.
At Trust Haulers, our operators don't just drive flatbeds — they understand how to load, secure, and transport every type of freight that goes on one. Proper load securement isn't just about compliance; it's about protecting your cargo and everyone on the road.

Safety & Load Securement
Flatbed cargo is exposed and often heavy. Proper securement isn't optional — it's the difference between a successful delivery and a catastrophic failure. Here's how we protect your freight and everyone on the road.
Certified Tie-Down Equipment
Chains, binders, straps, and edge protectors rated for the weight of your cargo. All equipment is inspected before every load.
DOT Securement Compliance
Every load meets or exceeds Canadian and US DOT securement regulations. Our operators are trained on the specific requirements for different cargo types.
Tarping & Weather Protection
When your cargo needs protection from the elements, we provide proper tarping to keep it dry and clean throughout transit.
Oversize Load Management
For loads exceeding legal dimensions, we arrange permits, route surveys, and pilot car escorts. We know which routes work and which don't.
Experienced Operators
Our flatbed drivers aren't general freight drivers on a flatbed — they're flatbed specialists who understand the unique challenges of open-deck transport.

Flatbed Shipping FAQs
What can be shipped on a flatbed truck?
Flatbed trucks handle cargo that won't fit in an enclosed trailer: construction materials (steel, lumber, concrete), heavy equipment (excavators, generators), industrial machinery, oversized manufactured goods, pipe and tubing, vehicles, and anything that needs top or side loading.
What are the weight and size limits for flatbed shipping?
Standard flatbed dimensions are 48 feet long, 8.5 feet wide, with a maximum freight height of 8.5 feet and approximately 48,000 lbs maximum legal weight. For loads exceeding these dimensions, oversize permits and pilot cars may be required — we handle all arrangements.
How is freight secured on a flatbed?
We use chains, binders, straps, and edge protectors rated for your cargo weight, following all Canadian and US DOT securement regulations. Our operators are trained in proper techniques for every freight type — from steel coils to construction equipment.
Do you handle oversized load permits?
Yes. When your load exceeds standard legal dimensions or weight limits, we arrange all necessary oversize/overweight permits, route surveys, and pilot car escorts for both Canadian provinces and US states.
