LTL Shipping From Calgary

Ship smarter, not bigger. Pay only for the truck space you actually need — with the same reliability and care we bring to every load.

What Is LTL Shipping?

Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipping is how businesses move freight that doesn't fill an entire truck. Instead of paying for a full trailer, your shipment shares space with other freight heading in the same direction. You pay for your portion of the truck — whether that's one pallet or ten.

This makes LTL the most cost-effective option for small to mid-size shipments. It's how the majority of commercial freight in North America moves, and for good reason: it gives businesses of every size access to professional trucking without the cost of a dedicated vehicle.

At Trust Haulers, we treat your LTL freight with the same care as a full truckload. Every shipment is tracked, every pallet is secured, and every delivery commitment is honoured. The truck is shared — the service isn't.

Who Uses LTL Shipping?

LTL works for a wide range of businesses and shipment types. If you're shipping less than a full truck, it's probably your best option.

E-Commerce & Retail

Regular shipments of inventory to stores or distribution centres. LTL lets you ship weekly or bi-weekly without paying for truck space you don't use.

Manufacturers

Shipping components to assembly plants or finished goods to distributors. LTL handles the steady flow of smaller shipments that keep production moving.

Distributors & Wholesalers

Moving product from warehouses to retail locations across multiple cities. LTL's consolidation model matches the way distribution networks operate.

Construction & Trades

Materials, fixtures, and equipment that need to reach job sites. Not every delivery justifies a full truck — LTL fills that gap reliably.

Growing Businesses

Startups and small businesses that need professional freight service without the overhead of full truckload shipping. Scale your shipping as your business grows.

One-Time & Seasonal Shippers

Moving office equipment, trade show displays, or seasonal inventory. LTL gives you professional freight service for occasional shipments without a contract.

LTL Shipping FAQs

What is LTL shipping?

LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipping is a freight service where your shipment shares truck space with other shippers heading the same direction. You pay only for the portion of the trailer your freight occupies — making it ideal for shipments that don't fill a full truck.

What size shipments qualify for LTL?

LTL is typically best for shipments between 150 lbs and 10,000 lbs, or 1–10 pallets. Below 150 lbs, parcel carriers are usually cheaper. Above 10,000 lbs or more than 10 pallets, full truckload (FTL) often becomes more cost-effective.

How long does LTL shipping take from Calgary?

Transit times from Calgary depend on the destination: within Alberta 1–2 days, to Vancouver 2–3 days, to Toronto 5–7 days, cross-border to the US 3–7 days. LTL takes longer than FTL because shipments are consolidated at terminals along the route.

How is LTL pricing calculated?

LTL pricing is based on weight and dimensions, freight class (density and handling characteristics), origin and destination, and any accessorial services like liftgate delivery or inside placement. Contact us at (825) 995-5246 for a detailed quote.
